I purchased the series, but can't make it to a session.  What do I do?


We will miss you, but we understand that calendars change.  You can either send someone in your place or cancel your spot.  Either way, please do so at least 5 business days before the event so that we can be properly prepared. Yes.  If your organization is purchasing multiple individual sessions, these are seen as separate transactions.  Individual transaction records help us to maintain accurate accounts and make your event-day check-in go as smoothly possible. 

It is a little bit longer.  We have added a few questions that ensure your credit card is secure, to better understand how you or your organization use your registration (so we can make improvements), and to collect demographic data that can aid in presenter preparation and inform supplemental or future professional development opportunities.

Does every person really have to complete a registration form?

But it's so much longer than previous years!

What time should I arrive at the session?

Check-in opens 30 minutes before the start of the session.  We recommend arriving 15-30 minutes early.  If you should allow extra time for parking and walking to the venue, it will be noted on the "About" page for the learning opportunity in question.

Why do the different learning opportunities have varying prices and package options?

The learning opportunities, particularly the Series and the Mini Series, reflect a local or regional collaboration between Indiana United Ways, the local United Way or United Fund, and community partners.  Because each is designed differently, has unique goals, and varying partner contributions, the registration fees, number of sessions offered, and timing is tailored to every local situation.

What is the Refund Policy?

Requests for refund must be submitted in writing to IUW (contact John Ferguson, Outreach Manager at john.ferguson@iuw.org).  Refund request is not a guarantee of refund.  Please see deadlines below.

Series Package Option:  Deadline to request a refund is March 16, 2018.  Any refund issued will reflect the total Series Package price less the registration fees (based on on-site, not reduced rate, pricing) of sessions that  have already occurred.  Requests for refund will not be accepted after March 16.  Please see Terms of Service below for other options.

Single Session Option: Deadline to request a refund is 7 business days before the event.  Requests for refund will not be accepted after this deadline.  Please see Terms of Service below for other options.

What are the Terms of Service?

Series Package Option:  If you cannot attend a session within the Series Package and/or your request for refund cannot be honored, you may send another person in your stead provided that: 1) intent to send a substitute participant is communicated to IUW per normal protocols (5 business days before the event) and 2) the name and contact information of the substitute participant is provided.  Requests/confirmation of attendance of this sort should be made in writing by contacting John Ferguson, Outreach Manager at john.ferguson@iuw.org

Additional:  While we strongly encourage the Series Package Purchaser to attend each session within the Series, we know that many of our nonprofits find benefit in sending different board, staff, or volunteers to sessions with content relevant to their respective roles.  If your Series Package purchase will be utilized with this "rotating seat" approach, please observe the following:

1) Attendance must still be confirmed at least 5 business days before the session.  

2) Seats may not be "banked" then utilized at a single session.  Once a session has passed, the "seat" associated with it is expired.  To clarify, it is not possible to purchase a Series Package of 8 sessions, for example, and send 8 participants to the last session. 

Single Session Option:  If your request for refund cannot be honored, you may transfer your single session registration to a substitute participant.  Please notify IUW of the intent to send a substitute in writing by contacting John Ferguson, Outreach Manager at john.ferguson@iuw.org.  The name and contact information of the substitute will need to be provided.

By registering or serving as a substitute, participants grant IUW and its partners to use your likeness in photograph, video, or other digital media in any and all publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other compensation or considerations.  Further, you waive the right to inspect or approve the final product and rights to royalties or other compensation arising from the related use of the photo.  Lastly, the photo becomes the property of IUW and its partners.  

Registered participants, attendees, and substitutes hold harmless, release and forever discharge IUW and its partners from all claims, demands, and causes of action which you, your heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on your behalf or on behalf of your estate have or may have by reason of this [implied] authorization.
